About Us

My plaid obsession started in 1985 with an addition of a tiny five week old Westie puppy to our family.  Riley Anne quickly stole our hearts.  Four years later, I decided she needed a little sister.  Corkey, our first Scottie, added more excitement to the family.  Both girls have gone to Rainbow Bridge after long (and very spoiled) lives.  In 2002, a five week old Matelyn Rose came to reside in the Carter household, a birthday present from my husband.  (The best birthday present I have ever received!)  Mattie added much entertainment to our quiet house with all of her Scottie puppy antics.   She now rules the household as all of you canine lovers will understand, and attends all of the dog shows and conventions with me. 

I have been appliquéing since 1984, selling at a local store and various craft shows.  When the National Rotating Scottish Terrier Specialty Show came to Louisville in 2005, I decided to be a vendor.  All Things Plaid began.  I was well received and have been concentrating on Scotties ever since.  I have found Scottish Terrier people to be just as loyal, loving, and faithful as their little dogs.   (I won’t mention the stubborn and independent traits!)  Terrier people are truly a “one of a kind” people and I am blessed to know each and every one of you!
